Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 4, 2026
Manuscript Writer (“the App”) is a writing app for iOS. This policy explains what data the App handles and where it lives.
1. Your manuscripts stay yours
Your documents, folders, and cards are stored:
- locally on your device (for offline writing), and
- in your personal iCloud account through Apple’s CloudKit private database when sync is enabled.
The developer does not store, read, sell, or share your manuscripts. The App has no server of its own, no analytics SDK, and no advertising SDK.
2. What the App collects
- No account. The App uses your Apple ID only through system sign-in for CloudKit; the developer never receives your Apple ID.
- No analytics or tracking. The App does not collect usage statistics, crash reports, or device identifiers beyond what Apple’s system services provide.
- No third-party SDKs are embedded in the MVP.
3. Scrivener import / export
Importing a .scriv project or exporting one is processed entirely on your
device. The files are not uploaded anywhere.
4. Sync (CloudKit)
If you enable iCloud sync, CloudKit stores a copy of your project in the private CloudKit database of the Apple ID signed in on your device. Apple handles the infrastructure; you can delete the cloud copy at any time by deleting the App’s iCloud data in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > Manage Storage, or by turning sync off.
5. Deleting your data
- Delete the App from your device to remove local copies.
- Delete the App’s iCloud data (see above) to remove the synced copy.
- Because the developer keeps no server copy, nothing else needs to be done.
6. Children
The App is a general writing tool and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
